Our Impact

By collaborating alongside our neighbors, from pre-K to adulthood, we make a profound impact on the lives of over 50,000 individuals in the greater Bridgeport region each year. These resilient youth and their families face incredible challenges, navigating the complex realities of a post-pandemic world, substance misuse and addiction, persistent violence, enduring poverty, mental illness, and the burden of generational trauma. One notable example of this impact can be seen through our restorative justice efforts. Restorative Justice is one of the many ways we serve more than 19,000 students and 1,500 school staff members across multiple school districts.

We've been working for decades to create safer communities for our youngest neighbors to grow up in. 🌟

Whether instituting idling laws for school buses to cut down on asthma-inducing pollution or training young people how to be leaders in their own right, we provide unique support to Connecticut youth.
This summer, Catalyst CT CEO Marc Donald attended the signing of Public Act 25-163, and provided crucial insight on the necessity of the law. ⚖️

The law prevents police officers from placing handcuffs on a pre-adjudicated juvenile known to be under 14 years of age.
At Catalyst CT, we know that our community needs hands-on support while we work to create big picture changes. 🤝
Last year, @parkcitycompost participated in our NextGen STEM Workshop Series, where we observed a significant interest from the youth in exploring the work being done. 🌱

PCC donates finished compost to relevant municipal and non-profit organizations that return the nutrients to the soil to improve soil health and local food initiatives.

Diverting food scraps from the solid waste stream reduces air pollution, asthma stress, and costs from the local solid waste incinerator. 🌏
Today, we take time to honor the memory of those who lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks as well as the first responders who embodied selfless service. 🕊️

That spirit of service motivates us in our duty to our community and neighbors. 🌟
