The Hub

Welcome to The Hub!

The Hub is the state-designated Regional Behavioral Health Action Organization (RBHAO) serving Southwestern Connecticut—the 14 communities from Greenwich to Stratford.

Our role is to serve as a strategic partner and resource for the region; coordinating initiatives related to mental health, suicide prevention, problem substance use, and problem gambling; as well as liaising between the region and the state. We also support the region’s Local Prevention Councils.

What We Do

Coordination & Support

As a strategic community partner, the Hub works with regional stakeholders.

  • We plan and coordinate prevention efforts in our towns.
  • We identify gaps and barriers in treatment and recovery services.
  • We conduct regional needs assessments and develop region-wide priorities for prevention, treatment, and recovery related to behavioral health concerns.
  • We convene regional workgroups and coalitions, including the Regional Suicide Advisory Board, the Regional Adult Alcohol Team, the Regional Cannabis Awareness Team, and the Regional Gambling Awareness Team.
  • We support the towns’ Local Prevention Councils as they stimulate the development of local prevention activities for people of all ages.
  • We officially designate regional businesses and organizations as Recovery Friendly Workplaces.
  • We lead and support advocacy efforts.

Education & Awareness

As a community resource center, the Hub educates community members and decision-makers about behavioral health challenges by offering:

  • Free Trainings open to the community, both in-person and virtually.
  • Information on prevention, treatment, and recovery.
  • Free Opioid Overdose Rescue Kits (OORKs) and training on administering naloxone to reverse an opioid poisoning.
