Catalyst CT’s annual State of the Child in Bridgeport report is a comprehensive survey of Bridgeport’s children and youth, accessible as a community resource. It paints an unvarnished picture of the impact of inequities on the lives of Bridgeport’s children and their families, fostering a shared understanding of current issues and challenges faced by our community.
By analyzing data, including socio-economic indicators, we study issues surrounding poverty, civic engagement, economic insecurity, early childhood development and childcare, education, health, juvenile justice, and safety. The report provides objective data, identifies best practices, and suggests practical steps to address our communities’ challenges.
