Our Members

Prevention Corps Members

Prevention Corps’ mission is to provide pro-active, community-focused solutions in opioid education, awareness, and stigma reduction.

Our members will support organizations in addressing the opioid crisis in our communities by utilizing the strategic prevention framework and educating the community on substance misuse and mental health.

Our members’ specific roles can differ depending on their host site. In general, they all engage in community education and harm reduction efforts. They coordinate and directly provide training in the use of naloxone, a medication that can reverse an opioid overdose emergency. They also lead presentations on stigma reduction, recovery, and the state of Connecticut’s opioid epidemic.

During their commitment, members serve 35 hours each week—members’ hours will fall entirely from Monday through Friday during traditional office hours on site.
